Limited edition prints ?
This is where a fixed number of prints is produced. Each print should be numbered and signed (initialled) by the artist. The numbering should disclose the total print edition so the numbering will be 14/99 (print number 14 out of a total off 99 produced)
Lightfast Inks?
These are inks that when printed onto suitable papers or canvas will maintain a true colour and brightness over a long period of time. Many manufacurers quote 75 years or more provided the works are kept out of direct sunlight.
Archival papers (substrates)?
These are papers or canvas that are coated to accept giclee inks. It is important that the papers are matched with the inks. This is hard for a buyer to determin so all ARTGiclee artists will provide a certificate that the ink and papers have been correctly matched.
Artists Proofs?
In addition to the numbered prints a number of Artist's Proofs will usually be produced. These are for the artist to confirm the print has been corrrectlty produced. These can be sold by the artist in addition to the numbered prints and should be marked "AP" and signed by the artist
